GET TO KNOW ME
Hi! I’m Alanna Spees, and I never thought I would live in Grand Junction.
I grew up in the Bay Area, and was used to a technology based, fast-paced huge sprawling metropolis where I was part of a world-class synchronized swimming team. I didn’t see snow until I was in my 20’s. I met my husband, Oliver, swimming on the team at CU Boulder. Together, we moved around to various places including Texas, back to California, Minnesota, and then finally to Grand Junction.
In this life, we wear so many different hats.
I’m also a mother, a daughter, a sister, a reluctant gardener, a swimmer, a rafter, a trail-runner, a bit of a coffee snob, and a solidly-intermediate skier. Those who know me best, know that I’ll never be the morning person that I want to be. So, if you see me out on the trails before 7am, know that the people I am with were well worth getting up for (and probably the only reason I’m out that early).
Anywhere but a desert.
When Oliver and I were thinking of relocating, I told him that I would live anywhere except the desert. As irony would have it, we headed straight for a desert… and a high alpine one to boot. Skeptical at first, living in Grand Junction has taken me an embarrassingly long time to adjust. But, along the way I’ve encountered incredible mountain and outdoor culture, boutique downtown charm, and some of the kindest and genuine people I have ever met.
There are unexpected hidden gems in the nooks and crannies of our community, and I hope that this site can help you find them.
So, I guess you could say that I am a converted Grand Junction-ite. I have found a place where we can be outdoors all year round, ski hot laps at our family-friendly resort, know our school teachers by their first names, and think that “traffic” means that you’re not the first car in line at a stop light.
I am passionate about the health and wealth of our community.
Striving to make our community healthier and wealthier is a huge part of practicing real estate. For me, this means many things. It means helping my clients buy homes that shelter their families, guide them through the emotional process of selling their home, improve their economic security and patiently mentor them as we navigate their dynamic real estate journey together.
I hope that my stories and insights here will help you experience the Grand Valley in all of its colorful glory.
To your joyful thriving, wherever you may be!
I look forward to connecting with you! Call or email me anytime!
